There are no improvements to Germany’s largest aviation center – there are significantly fewer passengers than a year earlier. It doesn’t look any better at Fraport airports abroad either.
Frankfurt / Main (dpa) – As expected, passenger traffic at Frankfurt Airport did not break out of the Corona low in October.
Cargo and airmail volume, on the other hand, even rose 1.8 percent year-on-year to 178,702 tonnes, as announced by the Frankfurt airport operator Fraport.
Last month, Fraport handled 1.07 million passengers at Germany’s largest aviation hub, 83.4 percent less than the previous year. In September, the year-on-year drop was 82.9 percent. In October, around 81,000 fewer passengers took off and landed in Frankfurt than in the previous month.
As a result of the pandemic and global travel restrictions, there were also significantly fewer passengers at Fraport airports abroad in October than the previous year. However, there was a clear gap in development at the individual locations.
