The Siemens Group wants to value its employees around the world with a total of 200,000 million euros for their special commitment in the days of Corona.
Munich (dpa) – Siemens pays most of its employees a crown bonus of up to 1,000 euros. In total, the group will distribute 200 million euros, as announced on Monday.
All employees around the world, with the exception of top management, should receive money, that is, about 235,000 people.
“The past few months have also been a great challenge for our company, which we have mastered relatively well together,” said outgoing Siemens boss Joe Kaeser. The payment underscores recognition “for the extraordinary performance and commitment of our colleagues in the most difficult conditions.”
If possible, the money should flow this year. Up to 1000 euros are paid, so the sum is adjusted to the respective purchasing power in the individual countries.
“We are pleased to have been able to reach an understanding with the board of directors on the special Covid payment,” said General Works Council Chair Birgit Steinborn. “This bonus is a recognition for employees who, with their outstanding commitment and excellent performance, ensure the foundation of the company’s success even in very difficult times.”
